FAILURE TO APPEAR – FELONY FIREARMS CHARGES

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Michael J. Lewis, 28, of 212 Daggs Street, Paincourtville, LA, on a Failure to Appear warrant for felony firearms charges.
Michael J. Lewis was arrested on February 19, 2021 and charged with felony gun law violations and aggravated assault with a firearm.
As a result of the aforementioned arrest, Michael J. Lewis was ordered to appear in court on December 13, 2021 and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for the arrest of Michael J. Lewis.
Michael J. Lewis was transferred on Friday from the Iberville Parish Jail to the Assumption Parish Detention Center at which time he was booked on a warrant for:
*Failure to Appear in Assumption Parish on charges of Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.
*Failure to Appear on a Charge of Possession of a Schedule II Drug
Michael J. Lewis was ordered to be held without bond and upon release will be sent to Ascension Parish to answer to charges in that jurisdiction.
