FELONY GUN LAW VIOLATIONS – AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
JAMAL LEE STARKS, TRACI ALEXIS BROWN, JOSHUA JAMES LOUPER
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jamal Lee Starks, 24, of 117 Violet Street, Labadieville, LA on numerous felony charges arising out of a drug related shooting incident near Labadieville.
On the aforementioned date, deputies and detectives responded to the Violet Street area in reference to a shooting. An investigation began and detectives determined that an incident had occurred and as a result a number of spent cartridges were recovered over a three-address area. Detectives determined that a vehicle had been struck by gunfire.
Detectives earlier this week arrested Traci Alexis Brown, 21, of 133 Rosedown Drive, Thibodaux and Joshua Louper, 21, of 120 Gassen Street, Luling, LA, on felony charges related to this incident.
Jamal Lee Starks allegedly returned fire with other individuals and as a result was arrested on Thursday.
Jamal Lee Starks was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Thursday and booked on charges of:
*Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons
*Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities
*Hit and Run Driving
*Failure to Appear – Distribution of Controlled Dangerous Substances (Assumption
Parish)
*Failure to Appear – 3rd Degree Rape (Assumption Parish)
Starks remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
