FORGERY – BANK FRAUD – MARY MARIE CHATMAN
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Mary Marie Chatman, 37, of 4115 Fieldcrest Drive, Thibodaux, LA, on felony charges arising from a fraudulent financial transaction.
On December 20, 2021, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint in which the victim reported that an individual had cashed a stolen check.
Detectives initiated an investigation and identified Mary Marie Chatman as the suspect who cashed the stolen checks.
Detectives applied for and were granted arrest warrants for the arrest of Mary Marie Chatman.
The suspect was being held by Patterson Police on unrelated charges.
She was released from Patterson on Wednesday and turned over to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office. She was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Forgery
*Monetary Instrument Abuse
*Bank Fraud
*Identity Theft
Mary Marie Chatman remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
