FELONY CHARGES RELATED TO PURSUIT
DANDRE D’MARKUS JOHNSON
BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Dandre D’Markus Johnson, 19, of 195 Hwy. 998, Belle Rose, LA, on felony charges arising from a pursuit near Belle Rose on Monday afternoon.
The Communications Division received notice from an outside law enforcement agency requesting officers to be on the lookout for a vehicle used in the commission of a crime. The information was dispatched to local units after which a detective located a vehicle matching the description in the Belle Rose area. Upon attempting to commit a traffic stop of the vehicle, the driver fled leading the detective on a pursuit with the suspect vehicle eventually crashing and four subjects fleeing on foot. Two of the subjects, one of which possessed a weapon, were taken into custody after being located in a nearby structure. The weapon was located underneath the structure. The weapon recovered had been reported stolen in Livingston Parish.
One of the captured suspects was identified as Dandre D’Markus Johnson and the second was a 17-year-old juvenile. Both were charged on counts of:
*Accessory After the Fact to Aggravated Flight from an Officer
*Simple Burglary
*Resisting an Officer
Dandre D’Markus Johnson was also charged with:
*Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile (Felony)
*Possession of a Stolen Firearm
The juvenile was released to a parent.
Dandre D’Markus Johnson remains incarcerated with bond set at $10,000.
