HOME INVASION – BRETT GEISLER

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Brett Geisler, 48, of 812 Highway 1014, Labadieville, La., on felony home invasion charges following an incident on Friday, December 18, 2020.

On the aforementioned date, deputies were called to the 800 block of LA 1014 in reference to a stabbing incident. The victim of the stabbing sustained non-life-threatening wounds that did require medical attention. Brett Geisler was the person stabbed.

Detectives were dispatched to the incident and initiated an investigation and determined that there had been an altercation amongst neighbors and as a direct result, Brett Geisler entered his neighbor’s home without authorization in furtherance of the dispute.

The homeowner stabbed Brett Geisler multiple times in what detectives deemed an act of self-defense.

Brett Geisler was transported to a medical facility for treatment and later released.

On Saturday, Brett Geisler was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Facility on a charge of:

Brett Geisler remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
