MULTIPLE BURGLARIES OF A LABADIEVILLE RELIGIOUS INSTITUTION – MALE JUVENILE – AGE 13
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the filing of a verified complaint against a 13-year-old male juvenile from Gonzales in connection with multiple burglaries of a religious institution located in the 100 block of Convent Street in Labadieville.
On April 1, 2024, deputies responded to the location in reference to a burglary. Detectives responded and initiated an investigation. It was determined that an unknown individual (s) made forced entry into a building and stole items from within.
On April 4, 2024, the Sheriff’s Office was notified of another burglary at the same building but in a separate area of the facility. Again, the suspect (s) made forced entry into the building and stole goods valued at over $1,000. Deputies were able to recover some of the stolen property.
Detectives continued their investigation and were able to develop a 13-year-old male from Gonzales as a suspect.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the 13-year-old male suspect was charged by verified complaint with 2 counts of Simple Burglary.
The juvenile was released to a guardian pending judicial proceedings.
