OPERATION, “BAYOU CLEAN UP” DRUG DISTRIBUTION

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Marland Gerard Desira, 42, of 160B Grisaffe Lane, Belle Rose, LA, on felony drug distribution charges arising out of Operation, “Bayou Clean Up”.
The Sheriff’s Narcotics Division initiated Operation, “Bayou Clean Up”, in an effort to combat illegal drug possession, distribution and trafficking throughout Assumption Parish. During that process, agents determined that Marland Gerard Desira was engaged in the distribution of illegal drugs.
Agents were able to establish probable cause to present evidence to an Assumption Parish Grand Jury that Desira was distributing meth-amphetamine. That grand jury indicted Desira on charges of distributing meth-amphetamine.
Warrants were requested and granted to agents to arrest Desira.
On Friday afternoon, Assumption Parish Agents with the assistance of the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office located and arrested Desira at a Donaldsonville hotel.
Marland Gerard Desira was transferred to the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Distribution of Meth-Amphetamine
Marland Gerard Desira remains incarcerated with a bond set at $75,000.
