RECKLESS DRIVER COMPLAINT – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS
JUDE DAMIAN CANTRELLE, JR.

PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jude Damian Cantrelle, Jr., 29, of 180 East 7th Street, Larose, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic incident originating south of Napoleonville.

Deputies responded to the call of a reckless driver and were able to intercept the violator near Plattenville on LA 308. Deputies made contact with the driver, now identified as Jude Damian Cantrelle, Jr. The suspect was highly animated and was non-responsive to the deputy’s questions.

The deputies noted a strong odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Deputies requested the presence of a K-9 unit to the stop location. The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted positive to the presence of controlled dangerous substances.

The suspect vehicle was searched and during that process, deputies seized various illegally possessed substances.

Jude Damian Cantrelle, Jr., was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession with Intent to Distribute Xanax (Alprazolam)
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Klonopin (Clonazepam)
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Use of Certain Wireless Telecommunications Devices for Text Messaging Prohibited
*Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
*Simple Criminal Damage to Property

Jude Damian Cantrelle, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
