SEX CRIMES – MATTHIEU KERANGAL
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Matthieu Kerangal, 36, of 121 East Avenue, Napoleonville, LA, on felony sex crimes charges arising from an investigation initiated by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigations / Louisiana Department of Justice.
Over a recent period of time, investigators with LBI developed information concerning Matthieu Kerangal in that he was suspected of engaging in sex related crimes involving juveniles as well as computer aided solicitation for sexual purposes.
Investigators from LBI were assisted by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, Louisiana State Police and East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.
As a result of this investigation, law enforcement authorities established probable cause to secure arrest warrants on Matthieu Kerangal.
Investigators converged on Matthieu Kerangal’s place of residence on June 22, 2022, located at 121 East Avenue at which time Kerangal was arrested. He was transported to and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Indecent Behavior with Juveniles
*Computer Aided Solicitation for Sexual Purposes
Both offenses require sex offender registration.
Matthieu Kerangal remains incarcerated in lieu of $400,000.
