NAPOLEONVILLE – Sheriff Leland Falcon is cautioning residents of an ongoing SCAM involving persons representing themselves from the Internal Revenue Service.

Potential targeted victims are receiving telephone calls which appear on caller I.D.’s as coming from a Sheriff’s Office Substation.

Those calls are not originating from any Sheriff’s Office phones. However, suspects are manipulating communication systems to appear as such.

In this case, the targeted victim was ordered to send money, or arrest warrants would be issued against her.

The victim was further ordered to call telephone number, 332-356-6263 when she accumulated the money.

This is a SCAM and Sheriff Falcon urges residents to not send money or provide any information to these criminals.
