SECOND DEGREE BATTERY – DELWIN CORNELL STEWART
PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Delwin Cornell Stewart, 29, of 108 Greenbriar Street, Belle Rose, LA, in connection with an incident near Paincourtville, LA, on May 23, 2020.
On that date, deputies responded to a disturbance involving two individuals.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with individuals who were allegedly witnesses to the incident at hand.
Deputies interviewed the parties involved including the suspect, Delwin Cornell Stewart.
As a result of the investigation, deputies concluded that Stewart had struck the victim with a closed fist in the face causing injuries requiring medical treatment.
At the time, warrants were filed charging Delwin Cornell Stewart, but he had already left the area.
Delwin Cornell Stewart was arrested on Monday and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Second Degree Battery
*Criminal Trespass
Delwin Cornell Stewart remains incarcerated with bond set at $75,000.
