LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of two individuals and the filing of verified complaints against two 17-year-old male subjects in connection with a drive-by-shooting which occurred on July 7, 2021 in the 100 block of LA 1014 near Labadieville.

The two adults who were charged are:

– Kyron K. Thompson, 19, of 233 Daggs Street, Belle Rose, LA
– Joshua L. Washington, 19, of 315 West 2nd Street, Donaldsonville, LA

The two juveniles charged by verified complaint:

– Male, Belle Rose, LA – Age 17
– Male, Gonzales, LA – Age 17

On July 7, 2021, Sheriff’s deputies responded to the location in reference to a drive-by-shooting.

Deputies noted evidence consistent with the alleged crime including multiple gunfire rounds fired from a vehicle into two mobile homes. The complainant’s residence at the time, was occupied by several people. No individuals were injured as a result of the crime.

Detectives responded and initiated an investigation and did recover evidence in support of the complaint. Detectives were able to identify the aforementioned individuals as suspects. Three of the suspects were determined to have fired high-powered assault firearms into the mobile home and the fourth suspect allegedly drove the vehicle used in the crime.

Warrants charging the two adults were secured while verified complaints were filed against the juveniles. The charges are as follows:

– Kyron K. Thompson:
*Contributing to the Delinquency of Juveniles – 2 Counts
*Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property – 2 Counts
*Assault by Drive-By-Shooting
*Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities

– Joshua L Washington:
*Contributing to the Delinquency of Juveniles – 2 Counts
*Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property – 2 Counts
*Assault by Drive-By-Shooting
*Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities

– Juvenile 1 from Belle Rose, LA:
*Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property – 2 Counts
*Assault by Drive-By-Shooting
*Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities

– Juvenile 2 from Gonzales, LA:
*Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property – 2 Counts
*Assault by Drive-By-Shooting
*Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities

Kyron Thompson and the juvenile from Belle Rose were taken into custody on July 12, 2021. Thompson was ordered held without bond. This juvenile male has been in continued custody and incarcerated in a juvenile facility as per verified complaint.

Joshua Washington was arrested with the assistance of Iberville Parish deputies on July 12, 2021 and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on July 13, 2021 and awaits a bond hearing.

The 17-year-old male from Gonzales, LA was taken into custody as per verified complaint on June 13, 2021. This juvenile was transported to a juvenile facility to be continued in custody.
