TRAFFIC STOP – ARREST FOR FELONY DOMESTIC CRIMES
TORIE TRAVONTAE LEWIS – I.C.E. ARREST
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Torie Travontae Lewis, 22, of 108 Marshall Lane, Napoleonville, LA on felony charges arising from a domestic incident that occurred on the evening of July 4, 2023, at a residence north of Napoleonville.
On July 5, 2023, a uniformed patrol officer assigned to the I.C.E. Unit received a social media message from the complainant in this case. The female advised that she has been in a relationship with Torie Travontae Lewis for the past 5-6 months. The victim states that early on, Lewis became physically and verbally abusive to her and basically controlled all of her activities, even in their home.
On July 4, 2023, Torie Lewis allegedly verbalized death threats toward her and forced her to get into their vehicle. Torie Travontae Lewis then took the victim to a secluded area off of LA 401 at which time he physically beat her. The victim attempted to leave the vehicle, but Lewis stopped her. Lewis again verbalized threats toward the victim and her family if she contacted police.
Based on all factors considered, deputies filed felony arrest warrants for Torie Travontae Lewis.
On Thursday afternoon, Torie Travontae Lewis was stopped for a speeding violation. Upon identifying Lewis, he was placed under arrest.
Torie Travontae Lewis was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Domestic Abuse Battery
*False Imprisonment
*Speeding
*Driver Must be Licensed
*Resisting an Officer
Torie Travontae Lewis remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
