TRAFFIC STOP / DRUG / GUN / DOMESTIC LAW VIOLATIONS

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jamie Andrew Lacey, 30, of 151 Marshall Lane, Napoleonville, LA on multiple felony charges arising from a traffic stop on LA 70 near Paincourtville on Thursday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle with an equipment violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Jamie Andrew Lacey and initiated an officer / violator interview. Jamie Andrew Lacey could not produce a valid Louisiana driver’s license.
A criminal history check indicated that Lacey was a convicted felon and was under a valid protective order. The deputy noted numerous factors that indicated criminal activity. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the suspect vehicle. During the search, deputies located suspected marijuana and a high-powered rifle with multiple rounds of ammunition. Jamie Andrew Lacey was placed under arrest and transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center for booking.
Once at the facility, a quantity of suspected cocaine was seized and attributed to Lacey.
Jamie Andrew Lacey was booked on charges of:
*Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Violation of a Protective Order (Felony)
*Possession of Marijuana
*Proper Equipment Required on Vehicle
*Taking Contraband to / from a Penal Institution
Jamie Andrew Lacey remains incarcerated awaiting a bond hearing.
