TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG / GUN LAW VIOLATIONS

BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Frederick Gray, 51, of 5219 Sandydale Lane, Houston Texas and Michelle Denis Ivie, 47, of 9325 Camay Drive, Houston Texas, on multiple felony charges arising from a traffic stop on U.S. 90 near Bayou L’Ourse.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Frederick Gray. The deputy engaged Gray into an officer / violator interview. The deputy then interviewed the lone passenger now identified as Michelle Denise Ivie. At the conclusion of those interviews, the deputy summoned a K-9 to the location. The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff of the suspect vehicle and alerted positive for the presence of controlled dangerous substances. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and did seize quantities of methamphetamine, marijuana, derivatives and a .38 caliber handgun. Deputies also recovered quantities of marijuana and methamphetamine off the person of Michelle Denise Ivie.

Frederick Gray was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
*Possession of Marijuana
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous
Substance
*Obstruction of Justice

Frederick Gray remains incarcerated with bond set at $275,000.

Michelle Denise Ivie was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous
Substance
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
*Possession of Marijuana
*Obstruction of Justice
*Possession of Methamphetamine

Michelle Denis Ivie remains incarcerated with bond set at $200,000.
