TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS
BRANDON MATTHEW STEELE, KAYLA BURCHELLE AUTHEMENT
BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Brandon Matthew Steele, 39, of 6053 Bayou Black Drive, Gibson, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop near LA 662 and Aristle Road in Bayou L’Ourse, LA Thursday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle in the area with an equipment violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. Deputies made contact with the driver now identified as Kayla Burchelle Authement, 38, of 317 Thoroughbred Dr., Thibodaux, LA and conducted an interview with her.
Investigating deputies noticed aggressive movements by a passenger in the suspect vehicle. Deputies removed the passenger now identified as Brandon Matthew Steele. During the interview process, deputies seized a quantity of methamphetamine from the person of Brandon Matthew Steele. This suspect was placed under arrest.
Brandon Matthew Steele was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Resisting an Officer – 2 Counts
*Probation Parole Detainer
Brandon Matthew Steele remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
Kayla Burchell Authement was issued citations for Burnt Brake Light and No License Plate Light.
She was released on a summons.
