TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Kadiee Lynn Martinez, 40, of 322 Lessard Street, Donaldsonville, LA, on felony charges arising from a traffic stop north of Belle Rose on Monday.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle in the 7300 block of LA 1 with an equipment violation.
The deputy conducted a stop of that vehicle making contact with the driver, now identified as Kadiee Lynne Martinez. The deputy initiated an officer / driver interview. The deputy found the driver to display physical signs of impairment. A check of Ms. Martinez’s driver’s license came back as suspended. The vehicle in question had no license plate displayed.
The deputy concluded that further investigation was warranted. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle. During the search, deputies seized a quantity of suspected Oxycodone.
During the investigative stop, deputies determined that Kadiee Lynne Martinez had left a minor child home alone while she conducted an errand.
Kadiee Lynne Martinez was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Proper Equipment Required
*Driving Under Suspension (Driver’s License)
*Possession of a Scheduled II Controlled Dangerous Substance to Wit: Hydrocodone
*Child Desertion
Kadiee Lynne Martinez was released on Tuesday after posting bond.
