TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Aaron Paul Prestenbach, 42, of 4955 Sonny Todd Road, Sulphur, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop in the 2500 Block of LA 1 in Labadieville on Monday.
A narcotics officer on assignment observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and executed a stop of that vehicle.
The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Aaron Paul Prestenbach and conducted an officer-initiated interview of the driver.
The deputy noted an odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle. During the interview process, the deputy conducted a protective pat down sweep of Aaron Paul Prestenbach and seized drug paraphernalia as well as methamphetamine.
A K-9 was summoned to the scene and conducted an open-air sniff of the suspect vehicle which produced positive for the presence of controlled dangerous substances. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of additional paraphernalia as well as methamphetamine.
Aaron Paul Prestenbach was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Aaron Paul Prestenbach remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
