TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Daniel Joseph Pourciau, 37, of 1923 Hermadel Drive, Baton Rouge, LA, on multiple felony drug law violations arising from a traffic stop on LA 308 in Napoleonville.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a southbound vehicle on LA 308 with an equipment violation. The deputy initiated a stop of that vehicle and made contact with the driver and engaged the driver into an officer / violator interview. The deputy then initiated contact with the passenger, now identified as Daniel Joseph Pourciau. The deputy conducted an officer / violator interview of Pourciau.
At the conclusion of those interviews, deputies believed that additional investigation was warranted.
The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the suspect vehicle. The deputy also conducted a protective pat down search of Pourciau and in doing so did seize quantities of suspected heroin and methamphetamine.
Daniel Joseph Pourciau was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Heroin.
*Possession of Methamphetamine
Daniel Joseph Pourciau remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
