TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of David James Scott, Jr., 31, of 3930 Myers Street, Gray, LA, on felony drug charges following a traffic stop on U.S. 90 near Bayou L’Ourse early Saturday morning.

A uniformed patrol officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle.

The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as David James Scott, Jr. The deputy noted behavior consistent with illegal drug activity and requested consent to search the suspect vehicle which was granted.

During the search process, a quantity of MDMA (Ecstasy), marijuana and assorted drug paraphernalia was seized.

David James Scott, Jr. was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of MDMA (Ecstasy)
*Possession of Marijuana
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Speeding

David James Scott was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
