TRAFFIC STOP / DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS / FUGITIVE
CHELSIE LENORA BREAUX, EDWARD ROY VINET, JR.
PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Chelsie Lenora Breaux, 30, of 1871 Highway 70 South, Pierre Part, LA, and Edward Roy Vinet, Jr., 46, of 602 West Worthey Road, Gonzales, LA, on multiple charges arising from a traffic stop on Tuesday evening on LA 70 near LA 1003.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Chelsie Lenora Breaux and conducted an officer / violator interview. The deputy then conducted an interview of the passenger, now identified as Edward Roy Vinet, Jr.
During those interviews, the deputy noted observations consistent with drug law violations. Furthermore, Edward Roy Vinet, Jr. provided false information as to his identity.
The deputy utilized a K-9 and conducted an open-air sniff of the suspect vehicle which alerted positive for the presence of controlled dangerous substances. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Chelsie Lenora Breaux was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Breaux was issued citations for:
*Driving Under Suspension
*Signs and Signal Violations
Chelsie Lenora Breaux remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
Edward Roy Vinet, Jr., was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center as a fugitive from Ascension Parish and will be turned over to that jurisdiction.
