TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS
DERRICK CHRISTOPHER MILLS – I.C.E. ARREST
BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Derrick Christopher Mills, 45, of 121 Burns Drive, Donaldsonville, LA on multiple felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop on LA 1 near Belle Rose, Monday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a northbound vehicle commit a traffic violation and executed a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver and conducted an officer / violator interview. The driver now identified as Derrick Christopher Mills was determined to be driving under a suspended drivers license. During a warrants check, Mills was identified as being wanted on a felony domestic abuse warrant out of Ascension Parish.
Derrick Christopher Mills was arrested. During a pat down search, deputies seized a quantity of suspected Heroin as well as multiple doses of Percocet. After obtaining consent to search the vehicle, deputies seized marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Derrick Christopher Milles was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Heroin
*Possession of Percocet
*Possession of Marijuana
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Speeding – 72 mph / 55 mph Zone
*Driving Under a Suspended License
*Fugitive – Ascension Parish – Domestic Abuse Battery Involving Strangulation
Derrick Christopher Mills remains incarcerated with bond set at $100,000.
