TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – I.C.E. ARRESTS
JOSEPH SOLOMON, PHOEBE JOSEPH
PAINCOURTVILLE– Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Joseph Solomon, 67, of 281 Highway 1003, Belle Rose, LA and Phoebe Joseph, 48, of 155 Highway 1003, Belle Rose, LA on felony charges arising out of a traffic stop near Paincourtville on Friday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy, working the I.C.E. detail, observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Joseph Solomon. The deputy conducted an officer / suspect interview.
The deputy recognized the passenger as Phoebe Joseph. The deputy had prior knowledge that Phoebe Joseph had an outstanding warrant in Assumption Parish for domestic abuse with child endangerment. Joseph was arrested.
At some point, deputies conducted pat down searches on both Joseph Solomon and Phoebe Joseph at which time she turned over suspected crack cocaine that she possessed. During the pat down search of Joseph Solomon, a quantity of suspected cocaine was seized.
Both Joseph Solomon and Phoebe Joseph were arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges as follows:
– As to Joseph Solomon
*Possession of Cocaine
*Possession of Crack Cocaine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Impeding the Flow of Traffic
Joseph Solomon was released on a bond of $20,000.
– As to Phoebe Joseph
*Possession of Cocaine
*Possession of Crack Cocaine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment
Phoebe Joseph remains incarcerated with bond set at $35,000.
