TRAFFIC STOP – FELONY FIREARMS VIOLATIONS
LLOYD HAMPTON, JR.

PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Lloyd Hampton, Jr., 38, of 102 Jenna Court, Schriever, LA, following a traffic stop on LA 70 East.

Early Thursday morning, a uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. The deputy initiated a stop of the vehicle and identified the driver as Lloyd Hampton, Jr.

During the interview process, the deputy established probable cause to search the vehicle. The driver granted consent allowing deputies to search the vehicle.

During the search, a .380 caliber handgun was found. Deputies further determined that Lloyd Hampton, Jr. was a previously convicted felon.

Lloyd Hampton, Jr., was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Summons for Speeding – 75/55

Lloyd Hampton, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
