TRAFFIC STOP – FUGITIVE ARREST; FAILURE TO APPEAR
DARREN JOSEPH VICKNAIR – I.C.E. ARREST
PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Darren Joseph Vicknair, 37, of 44444 Melancon Street, Lot 35, Sorento, LA, on a felony fugitive warrant as well as a failure to appear warrant following a traffic stop near Paincourtville on Sunday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle on LA 70 near LA 70 Spur and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy interviewed the driver then proceeded to interview the passenger, now identified as Darren Joseph Vicknair. The deputy conducted a warrants inquiry and determined that Darren Joseph Vicknair was a fugitive from Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office and was also wanted on a warrant for Failure to Appear in Assumption Parish.
Darren Joseph Vicknair was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Fugitive Warrant – Ascension Parish on a Count of Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment
*Failure to Appear – Assumption Parish for a Seat Belt Violation
Bond on the failure to appear is set at $600, cash only.
Upon satisfying the charges in Assumption Parish, Darren Joseph Vicknair will be transferred to the custody of the Ascension parish Sheriff’s Office to be booked on those charges.
