TRAFFIC STOP, ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A STOLEN FIREARM
TYRON ASHLEN SIMON, TINARY DALE BELLOCK, JR., JONTE DAVIS, DAVANTEA TERMAINE LINK
GRAND BAYOU – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Tyron Ashlen Simon, 22, of 32650 Shirley Dennis, White Castle, LA, Tinary Dale Bellock, Jr., 26, of 32865 Adams Drive, White Castle, LA, Jonte Davis, 20, of 33100 Adams Drive, White Castle, LA and Davante Termaine Link, 22, of 33100 Adams Drive, White Castle, LA on felony gun law violations arising from a traffic stop on LA 69 near Grand Bayou, LA, early Wednesday.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle with an equipment violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Tyron Ashlen Simon and engaged Simon in an officer / violator interview. The deputy then contacted the three passengers, now identified as Tinary Dale Bellock, Jr., Jonte Davis and Davantea Termaine Link.
After interviewing all four occupants, the deputy concluded that additional investigation was warranted. The deputy requested consent to search the suspect vehicle which was granted. During the search process, a large caliber handgun and an amount of marijuana was located. A records check indicated that the handgun was previously reported stolen in Ascension Parish.
All four suspects were arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges as follows:
– As to Tyron Ashlen Simon:
*Possession of Marijuana
*Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm
*Proper Equipment Required on Vehicles
Simon remains incarcerated with bond set at $20,000.
– As to Tinary Dale Bellock, Jr.
*Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm
*Detainer – Probation Violation – Department of Corrections
Bellock remains incarcerated with bond set at $20,000 on the firearms charge and ordered held without bond on the probation violation.
– As to Jonte Davis:
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm
*Detainer – Probation Violation – Department of Corrections
Davis remains incarcerated with bond set at $40,000 on the current charges and ordered held without bond on the probation violation.
– As to Davantea Termaine Link:
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Obstruction of Justice
*Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm
*Detainer– Probation Violation – Department of Corrections
Link remains incarcerated with bond set at $50,000 and he was ordered held without bond on the probation violation.
