TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS – AGGRAVATED FLIGHT

BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Mason Alexander Mayet, 20, of 714 Tip Top Street, Vacherie, LA, on felony charges arising from a traffic incident on LA 398 west of Labadieville.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver fled, engaging the deputy into a pursuit situation.

A short time later, the vehicle crashed. The driver / suspect was apprehended and arrested. The driver was identified as Mason Alexander Mayet.

The suspect was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Aggravated Flight from an Officer
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Speeding – 97 mph / 55mph
*Simple Criminal Damage to Property

Mason Alexander Mayet remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
