TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS – FELONY ASSAULT ON PEACE OFFICERS
JIMMY P. BLANCHARD
PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jimmy P. Blanchard, 60, of 112 Gary Street, Pierre Part, LA, on felony charges resulting from a traffic incident and low speed pursuit in Pierre Part on Monday evening.
A uniformed patrol officer observed a vehicle westbound on LA 70 commit a traffic violation and initiated a traffic stop.
The violator stopped, and while the deputy was interviewing him, the suspect drove off. The deputy pursued the violator whom he suspected of being intoxicated.
The suspect was eventually stopped and after a brief struggle with deputies, was arrested.
Jimmy P. Blanchard was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*D.W.I. – Third Offense (Felony)
*Aggravated Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
*Failure to Appear (Resisting an Officer, Hit and Run)
*Simple Criminal Damage to Property (2 Counts)
*Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle (2 Counts)
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence (2 Counts)
*Aggravated Flight from an Officer
*Aggravated Assault with a Motor Vehicle Upon a Peace Officer
Jimmy P. Blanchard remains incarcerated with bond set at $90,100.00.
