COMPLAINT – RECKLESS DRIVING
BENITO MEZA – I.C.E. ARREST
GRAND BAYOU – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Benito Meza, 40, of 121A Hampton Street, Houma, LA on felony DWI charges arising from a complaint of a reckless driver received from Iberville Parish 911.
An I.C.E. assigned deputy was dispatched to the area of LA 69 near Grand Bayou at approximately 4:50 a.m. and was able to locate the suspect vehicle. The deputy documented probable cause to initiate a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Benito Meza.
The deputy conducted a series of field sobriety tests of which Benito Meza performed poorly.
Benito Meza was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Driving While Intoxicated – Third Offense
*No Driver’s License
*Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in a Motor Vehicle
*Switched License Plate
Benito Meza remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
