CONSPIRACY TO INTRODUCE CONTRABAND INTO A PENAL INSTITUTION – CATHY COREYELL PHILLIP
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Cathy Coreyell Phillip, 26, of 115 Pugh Street, Paincourtville, LA, on charges alleging that she attempted to provide controlled dangerous substances to an inmate at the courthouse following a court proceeding on or about February 27, 2019.
On or about the aforementioned date, Assumption Parish deputies were escorting a group of inmates from the courtroom area when they observed Cathy Coreyell Phillip attempt to hand the inmate in question a package. At the time, deputies could not pursue Phillip, but were able to make a positive identification.
Arrest warrants were immediately issued for Phillip but she fled the area.
Phillip was arrested in Ascension Parish on February 21, 2020. She was transferred to the Assumption Parish Detention Center and booked on charges of:
*Criminal Conspiracy to Introduce Contraband into a Penal Institution
*Resisting an Officer
Cathy Coreyell Phillip was incarcerated and later released on bond.
