GRAND JURY INDICTMENTS – OPERATION “TAKE A RIDE”
31 ARRESTED – DEPUTIES SEEK 21 ADDITIONAL SUSPECTS

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports that a major block of drug suspects have been arrested and deputies are seeking additional suspects as a result of operation, “Take a Ride”. This operation has been ongoing for months in which drug suspects were identified and eventually conducted transactions with undercover agents.

As a result of this parish wide operation, a total of 48 suspects were indicted by an Assumption Parish Grand Jury on November 6, 2020 through evidence obtained by the Sheriff’s Office. As a result, 23rd Judicial District Attorney Ricky Babin’s office presented that evidence resulting in the large group of indictments.

On Sunday, November 15, 2020, Sheriff’s Deputies began the massive task of arresting these drug offenders and that process is ongoing.

All suspects were incarcerated pending bond proceedings.
