NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Charon L. Bougere, 40, of 117 Bertrand Street, Napoleonville, LA, on felony charges arising from a traffic incident originating in Napoleonville, Wednesday afternoon.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle operating in a reckless manner through Napoleonville and attempted a traffic stop of the vehicle. The driver engaged the deputy into pursuit southbound on LA 1. The driver continued at speeds in excess of 80 miles per hour and forced oncoming traffic off of the roadway during the busy afternoon commute.

The suspect driver continued to operate her vehicle in a dangerous and callous manner into the Labadieville community. Deputies were able to successfully terminate the pursuit and arrested the driver, now identified as Charon L. Bougere.

Deputies booked Charon L. Bougere into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Aggravated Flight from an Officer
*Resisting an Officer – 2 Counts
*Driver Must be Licensed
*Reckless Operation with an Accident

Charon L. Bougere remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
