SUSPICIOUS PERSON – CALVIN TROY WEATHERFORD, JR.

PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Calvin Troy Weatherford, Jr., 39, of 932 Bayou Drive, Pierre Part, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a suspicious person complaint in the area of Spur 70 near Plattenville.

Deputies were dispatched to the area late Monday night and located an individual matching the description of a suspicious person as provided by the complainant walking along the road.

Deputies made contact with the person now identified as Calvin Troy Weatherford, Jr. and engaged Weatherford into an officer / suspect interview. Deputies noted that Weatherford attempted to dispose of items believed to be controlled dangerous substances. The subject also attempted to swallow marijuana.

Deputies conducted a protective pad down search of Weatherford and his belongings and located assorted paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine.

Calvin Troy Weatherford, Jr. was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Obstruction of Justice
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Marijuana – First Offense
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Calvin Troy Weatherford, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
