SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE, DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Barry P. LeBlanc, 57, of 5727 Highway 308, Plattenville, LA, on felony drug law violations after deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle complaint off of Brule Maurin Road, north of LA 70 East late Saturday.
Deputies responded to a citizen complaint and located the vehicle in question. Deputies approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver whom had exited the vehicle. Deputies interviewed the driver, now identified as Barry P. LeBlanc.
As deputies conducted a walk around of the vehicle, they located a quantity of suspected crack cocaine near the vehicle. During an officer / violator interview, Barry P. LeBlanc conceded that there was crack cocaine in the vehicle’s center console.
A K-9 was utilized to conduct an open-air sniff of the vehicle. The K-9 alerted positive for the presence of controlled dangerous substances.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of suspected crack cocaine from the interior of the vehicle.
Barry P. LeBlanc was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Possession of Crack Cocaine
Barry P. LeBlanc remains incarcerated with bond set at $30,000.
