TRAFFIC COMPLAINT – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Shawn Christopher Charlet, 33, of 35590 Richland Road, White Castle, LA., after deputies responded to a complaint of a reckless driver.

On Friday afternoon, deputies responded to the LA 70 and LA 69 area near Grand Bayou, in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies located the pickup truck in question and made contact with its driver, now identified as Shawn Christopher Charlet.

During the investigative stop, deputies noted the physical appearance and presentation of the violator to be suspicious of further criminal activity. Based on those circumstances, deputies requested and were granted permission to search the suspect’s vehicle.

During that process, deputies located and seized quantities of Heroin and Xanax along with a 9mm handgun.

Shawn Christopher Charlet was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of Heroin
*Possession of Xanax (Alprazolam)
*Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances

Shawn Christopher Charlet was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
