TRAFFIC – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Robert W. Casady, Jr., 41, of 774 Avenue B, Westwego, LA, Scarlet Welty, 40, of 121 Carman Dr., Avondale, LA, and Danyell Lin Waguespack, 38, of 1018 Gassen St., Luling, LA, on various charges arising from a Monday afternoon traffic stop on LA 70 near Paincourtville, LA.

Deputies and narcotics agents observed a vehicle with an equipment violation and conducted a stop of that vehicle. The officers made contact with the driver, now identified as Robert W. Casady, Jr., as well as two passengers, now identified as Scarlet Welty and Danyell Lin Waguespack.

Deputies conducted interviews with all three occupants and concluded that additional investigation was warranted.

Deputies requested and were granted consent to search the vehicle as well as other personal property. During that process, agents seized several hundred doses of Oxycodone.

As a result of those findings, Robert W. Casady, Jr. was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession with Intent to Distribute Oxycodone
*Illegal Window Tint

Scarlet Welty was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of Oxycodone with Intent to Distribute

Danyell Lin Waguespack was arrested on a fugitive warrant from the Kenner Police Department for:

*Rented or Leased Motor Vehicles, Obtaining by False Representation, Etc. Failure to Return

Danyell Lin Waguespack remains incarcerated in Assumption Parish pending transfer to the jurisdiction of Kenner Police.

Robert Wayne Casady, Jr. and Scarlet Welty remain incarcerated in Assumption Parish awaiting bond hearings.
