TRAFFIC INCIDENT – AGGRAVATED FLIGHT
WENDELL JOHNSON – I.C.E. ARREST

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Wendell Johnson, 62, of 130 Jones Street, Bertrandville, LA, on felony flight charges arising from a Saturday evening traffic incident.

A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. Unit observed a southbound vehicle, north of Napoleonville, commit a traffic violation and attempted a stop of the vehicle. The suspect engaged the deputy into a highspeed pursuit situation southbound on LA 1. A second patrol unit was set up waiting for the suspect vehicle and deputies were able to successfully terminate the pursuit and take the suspect into custody.

The suspect, now identified as Wendell Johnson, was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Aggravated Flight from an Officer
*Speeding
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Resisting an Officer – 2 Counts
*Improper Passing

Wendell Johnson remains incarcerated with bond set at $95,000.
