TRAFFIC INCIIDENT / PURSUIT
ALVIN JOSEPH JAMES, JR.

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Alvin Joseph James, Jr., 28, of 112 Frank Lane, Belle Rose, LA, arising out of a traffic incident near Belle Rose on Thursday.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation near LA 1 and LA 998 and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle accelerated southbound on LA 1 and continued on until accessing LA 308 at the Paincourtville Bridge. The vehicle continued south on LA 308 to the area of College Point Lane.

The pursuit was terminated and the deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Alvin Joseph James, Jr.

The suspect was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Aggravated Flight from an Officer
*Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Illegal Window Tint

Alvin Joseph James, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
