TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG / GUN LAW VIOLATIONS

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Nicole Marie Hampton, 35, of 41285 Oak Harbor Road, Prairieville, LA, on multiple felony charges arising from a traffic stop on Saturday west of Labadieville.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a west bound vehicle on LA 398 with an equipment violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle.
The deputy made contact with the driver and conducted an officer / violator interview.
At the conclusion of that interview, the deputy felt additional investigation was warranted.
During a criminal history check, the deputy was advised that a fugitive warrant was outstanding for the driver, now identified as Nicole Marie Hampton.
During the interview process, Nicole Marie Hampton acknowledged that she was in possession of drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine and a firearm.
It was determined that Nicole Marie Hampton had been convicted of possession of methamphetamine in 2011 and could not lawfully possess a firearm.
During the vehicle search process, a quantity of methamphetamine and a firearm were recovered. Drug paraphernalia was recovered on the person of Hampton.
Nicole Marie Hampton was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection Tag
*Tail Lamps Required
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Fugitive Warrant – New Orleans Police Department – Unauthorized Use of a Moveable
Nicole Marie Hampton remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
