VEHICLE BURGLARIES

JASON J. BLANCHARD

PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jason J. Blanchard, 44, of 114 Oak Lane, Pierre Part, LA, on charges related to a series of vehicle burglaries in the upper Pierre Part area.

Deputies responded to a call of an attempted auto burglary on Saturday and were able to obtain video evidence. The deputy noted that the suspect description appeared similar to a person identified in burglaries of vehicles in the same area in December of 2019. The suspect was identified at that time as Jason J. Blanchard. Victim’s in that case declined to pursue criminal charges.

Deputies located Blanchard on Saturday and detained him for questioning. Based on that interview, Jason J. Blanchard was arrested. During the process, Blanchard acknowledged his participation in other more recent auto burglaries and subsequently turned over evidence stolen during those incidents.

Jason J. Blanchard was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Simple Burglary (5 Counts)
*Attempted Simple Burglary (1 Count)

Blanchard was incarcerated pending bond hearings.
