DISTURBANCE / AGGRAVATED BATTERY
CHELSEA FERNANDEZ, MARYSHELL JOSEPH, LATIVIA RENEE STEWARD
BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Chelsea Fernandez, 33, of 124 Grisaffe Lane, Belle Rose, LA, on felony charges related to a disturbance near Belle Rose on Thursday afternoon.
Additionally, deputies issued misdemeanor summonses to Maryshell Joseph, 19, of 135 Grisaffe Lane, Belle Rose, LA, and Latavia Renee Steward, 21, of 176 Peterville Lane, Belle Rose, LA.
Deputies responded to 124 Grisaffe Lane and upon arrival, commenced an investigation of the incident. It was determined that a physical confrontation had occurred which involved Chelsea Fernandez, Maryshell Joseph and Latavia Renee Steward.
It was determined that during the incident, Maryshell Joseph caused damage to a door at the dwelling located at 124 Grisaffe Lane.
During the incident, Chelsea Fernandez allegedly struck Latavia Renee Steward in the head with a tire tool. Deputies did observe injuries to Steward consistent with a strike to the head with a metal object.
Chelsea Fernandez was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a charge of:
*Aggravated Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
Maryshell Joseph was issued a misdemeanor summons for Simple Criminal Damage to Property and released.
Latavia Renee Steward was issued a summons for Disturbing the Peace by Fighting and released.
Chelsea Fernandez remains incarcerated and awaits a bond hearing.
