TRAFFIC INCIDENT – GUN LAW VIOLATIONS
SHAMAR SAVION WILLIAMS
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Shamar Savion Williams, 20, of A143 Solar Trailer Park, Thibodaux, LA, on felony charges arising out of a traffic stop Saturday evening near Napoleonville, LA.
A uniformed patrol officer observed a vehicle with an equipment violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Shamar Savion Williams.
The deputy conducted an interview of Williams and concluded that additional investigation was warranted. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle. During that process, a large caliber handgun was recovered and positionally attributed to Shamar Savion Williams. This individual is a previously convicted felon and therefore cannot possess a firearm.
Shamar Savion Williams was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Headlamps Required
Williams was released on a $50,000 bond.
