TRAFFIC INCIDENT – DRUG / GUN LAW VIOLATIONS
PHILLIP ALBERT BREAUX, III – I.C.E. ARREST
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Phillip Albert Breaux, III, 39, of 224 Ewell Street, Belle Rose, LA, on multiple felony charges arising from a traffic stop on LA 398 West of Labadieville, LA on Tuesday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed an eastbound vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Phillip Albert Breaux, III and engaged Breaux into an officer / violator interview. The deputy noted observations consistent with illegal drug activity.
At some point, the deputy conducted a vehicle walk around and observed a container of suspected marijuana in plain view. The deputy summoned a K-9 to the scene. The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff and alerted positive for the presence of illegal narcotics.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of marijuana and multiple doses of MDMA (Ecstasy). A firearm was also seized. That firearm had previously been reported stolen.
Phillip Albert Breaux, III, was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Illegal Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Possession with Intent to Distribute MDMA (Ecstasy)
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in a Motor Vehicle
*Speeding, 74 MPH / 55 MPH Zone
Phillip Albert Breaux, III remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
