TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG/GUN LAW VIOLATIONS

PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Junious J. Henderson, III., 32, of 122 Scott Drive, Napoleonville, LA, on felony drug and gun law violations arising from a traffic stop on LA 1 near Plattenville late Monday afternoon.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Junious J. Henderson, III and initiated an officer / violator interview.
The deputy noted observations consistent with illegal drug activity and elected to conduct further investigation. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the suspect vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a large caliber handgun and a quantity of suspected Heroin.
Junious J. Henderson, III was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Heroin
*Illegal Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Disregarded a Stop Sign
Junious J. Henderson, III remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
