SUSPICIOUS PERSON ARMED WITH A SHOTGUN

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jared Paul Thibodeaux, 33, of 2636 Highway 1, Labadieville, LA, on felony charges related to a suspicious person who was armed with a shotgun at a residence in the 2600 block of LA 1 in Labadieville, LA.

Early Monday afternoon, deputies were called to the location in question and made contact with the complainant who advised that a man appeared on his back porch armed with a shotgun who stated he was looking for an individual. When deputies arrived at the complainant’s home, the suspect had already left but the deputy was able to locate the subject, now identified as Jared Paul Thibodeaux, at 2636 Highway 1 in Labadieville.

The deputy interviewed the suspect who acknowledged that he was at 2624 Highway 1, Labadieville looking for someone and Thibodeaux stated he was armed at the time. Deputies found that Thibodeaux appeared to be acting in a peculiar manner and decided to have him examined by Acadian Ambulance personnel. Jared Paul Thibodeaux was checked and cleared by paramedics.

Deputies applied for a search warrant which was granted. Deputies did search the residence at 2636 Highway 1 and did seize a 12-gauge shotgun which was possessed by Jared Paul Thibodeaux.

Deputies arrested Jared Paul Thibodeaux and booked him into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Criminal Trespass
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Jared Paul Thibodeaux remains incarcerated with bond set at $100,000.
