TRAFFIC STOP, DRUG -FIREARMS VIOLATIONS

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Junious J. Henderson, III, 29, of 122 Scott Drive, Napoleonville, LA, on felony charges resulting from a traffic stop early Saturday morning.
A uniformed patrol deputy working assignment near Napoleonville observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. The deputy initiated a stop of the vehicle and made contact with the driver now identified as Junious J. Henderson, III.
During the course of the traffic stop, deputies conducted a protective pat down search of Henderson’s person and seized a substance believed to be cocaine.
Deputies then obtained consent to search the vehicle. During the stop, a handgun was seized as well as drug paraphernalia.
Junious Henderson was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Cocaine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Speeding
Junious Henderson, III was released on a $20,000 bond.
