TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Kristie Lynn Bourg, 46, of 3934 Highway 1, Napoleonville, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop near LA 400 South of Napoleonville on Tuesday evening.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on LA 1 and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Megan K. Oncale, 20, of 3934 Highway 1, Napoleonville, LA and engaged the driver in an officer / violator interview. The deputy noted a strong odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle.

The deputy noted one passenger in the vehicle, namely Kristie Lynn Bourg. The deputy interviewed the passenger and based on both interviews; the deputy believed additional investigation was warranted. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle. During the search process, marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was recovered.

Megan K. Oncale was issued a misdemeanor summons for:

*Possession of Marijuana
*Speeding

Megan Oncale was released and ordered to appear in court.

Kristie Lynn Bourg was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Possession of Marijuana

Kristie Lynn Bourg remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
