TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Chase Sebastian Hernandez, 23, of 11490 Sims Road, Denham Springs, LA, Dylan Mikeal Ruiz, 22, of 44431 Lakewood Drive, Prairieville, LA and Evan Robert Lynch, 222, of 30618 Corbin Avenue, Walker LA, on felony drug charges arising from a Sunday afternoon traffic stop in Napoleonville.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed multiple equipment violations on a vehicle on LA 1 and initiated a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Dylan Mikeal Ruiz and initiated an officer / violator interview. The deputy noted multiple subjects in the vehicle as well as a pungent odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The deputy proceeded to interview the occupants and at some point, Evan Robert Lynch, in response to the deputy’s questions, voluntary surrendered a quantity of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A pat down search of Evan Robert Lynch resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
At the conclusion of the interview, the deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle. During the search process, additional marijuana and methamphetamine were seized.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Chase Sebastian Hernandez, Dylan Mikeal Ruiz, and Evan Robert Lynch were arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
Dylan Mikeal Ruiz was booked on charges of:
*Registration Violations
*Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection Tag
*Possession of Marijuana
*Possession of Methamphetamine
Ruiz posted a $25,000 commercial bond.
Chase Sebastian Hernandez was booked on charges of:
*Possession of Marijuana
*Possession of Methamphetamine
Hernandez remains incarcerated with bond set at $25,000.
Evan Robert Lynch was booked on charges of:
*Possession of Marijuana
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Lynch remains incarcerated with bond set at $25,000.
Ruiz, and Lynch remain incarcerated pending bond hearings.
